A few months back, I began dropping off some of my books at Little Free Library boxes. It’s a great way to support free reading in local communities and also put my books in the hands of new readers. A win-win in my book!
Since then, I’ve taken my giving on the road. I’ve made book drops at little libraries in both Ohio and Delaware. (In addition to my first book drops in Northern Virginia.)
I have no idea if anyone has found my books or read them yet. But it’s fun to think of a book lover stumbling on them and being excited to read something new. It’s also fun to find the library boxes themselves.
To track them down, I use the map feature on LittleFreeLibrary.Org and look for boxes that are not too far from wherever I will be. It’s often hard to choose when I see how many there are in an area. (So many book lovers sharing free books!!)
Schools with library boxes are a great place to drop books. But I also like to leave books in parks and neighborhoods. Once the weather gets colder, I plan to leave books with some tea and coffee shops where I’ve seen indoor free libraries and book share shelves.
If you’ve found one of my books, please let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you!
There are ways you can help me with this project. Supporting my Patreon page helps me raise money for projects like this. You can also contact me to buy a book (at a discounted rate) that I will sign and drop at a little free library.
If you haven’t used little free libraries yourself, check them out! They are a great way to share the love of reading.
Happy Reading!
