Twists to Find with Audrey and Esther

My choose-your-ending book, Audrey and Esther Geekify Greenville, has been on sale quite often lately through Amazon. These sales are at Amazon’s discretion. They come and go, and some have offered the book at 50-70% off (much cheaper than I can afford to sell the book myself!) You can keep an eye on the price and buy your copy here. (Note: buying on sale is a win-win for us both, so get your discount if you can!)

Quick Audrey and Esther History

Toward the end of 2020, I needed a fun project. Covid had affected my family and the whole world. I needed some silly fun. So I wrote a choose-your-ending style gamebook. I had no idea how to write this style of book. But I loved reading them as a kid, so I decided to figure it out. While I was at it, I added another layer: the book has three main storylines each with sci-fi, fantasy, or rom-com tropes. Your choices could lead down any path or a mix of all three!

A Read Along Scavenger Hunt

There are a lot of silly twists and wacky moments scattered throughout Audrey and Esther Geekify Greenville. If you like a challenge, here’s a list of moments to watch out for as you read and reread, making new choices to build new stories. Can you find them all?

  • A talking fairy doll
  • Captain Steampunk
  • An indie author with purple hair
  • Members of SETLOE
  • A magical time loop
  • An answer to a theoretical question that saves the world
  • Vryslik, Claimer of Worlds
  • A romantic declaration gone wrong
  • Taylor’s Tea Shop
  • A fortune teller
  • Krelvalnik’s ship

A Challenge for Genre Purists

Most likely, your choices will lead to a mix of genres. However, there are several ways you could end up reading a story that is pure sci-fi, fantasy, or rom-com. Here are some tips to tell if you’ve stuck within a single genre from the beginning to a story’s end:

Sci-Fi – The story you read involved the search for alien life. You never met a steampunk artist or a trio of wizards.

Fantasy – The story you read involved wizards. You never met a steampunk artist or anyone searching for alien life.

Rom-Com – The story you read involved a steampunk artist. You never met wizards or anyone searching for alien life.

Who Might Love Audrey and Esther?

If you’ve gotten this far and still aren’t sure, maybe Audrey and Esther Geekify Greenville isn’t the right book for you. Or maybe it is! This book is ideal for anyone who goes to comic book and pop culture cons or is interested in that sort of thing. It’s also great for anyone who likes silly stories that play up genre tropes. And it’s really great for those who love alternate universe or alternate ending (e.g. Sliding Doors) type stories!

The content is family friendly, though likely more appealing to older kids/teens and adults. Watch for sales on Amazon to get the best price. Or contact me if you’d like a signed copy at full price plus shipping. Either way, enjoy the read!
