- Director Alvarsson does not want Amanda to use her psychic travel abilities until she is an adult. Do you think adults often underestimate kids’ abilities? Do you think it can be good when adults try to keep kids from growing up too quickly?
- When Trey spreads a rumor about Amanda and Drew, the kids at school, including Trina, assume it’s true. How does the rumor affect Amanda’s friendships with Drew and Trina? - In Terra-V, Alira tells Amanda, “You are not being asked to assess the risk of our journey or interpret our prophecy. You are only being asked to choose a direction.” Caeph later says Amanda does not have control over what the Churukh might do. How do you feel about this outlook? Do you think the Vherahna set healthy boundaries by accepting what a person can and cannot control? How might that affect the way they work as a team?
- The Vherahna and the tuntum trees have a mutual symbiotic relationship where they draw strength from each other. In our world, bees have a similar relationship with flowering plants. Can you think of any other symbiotic relationships in nature?
- When Lucas Flynn shows up, he’s surprised that Amanda has never heard of him. Do you think Cameron should have warned Amanda about him before the journey? Why do you think Lucas was working with the Churukh king and queen?
